Have you ever visited a place and felt it change you, just a little? A place that sticks with you so deeply that you find yourself trying to recreate its flavors in your own kitchen months later?

For me, that’s the magic of travel. It’s about the lasting impact—the reverberations—that these experiences leave on us. (The name is also a nod to a favorite song by The 13th Floor Elevators, but the travel meaning is the one that has come to define this blog.)

My interest in travel was first sparked in a high school German class, but it wasn’t until a trip to Berlin nearly a decade later that the passion truly took hold. That first trip abroad rekindled my desire to study the language more seriously. But it was a trip to Munich that made me truly fall in love with Germany, and my husband and I have been drawn back to explore its cities and countryside nearly a dozen times since. Lately, that same sense of discovery has led us to new adventures in places like Japan.

While my love for Germany runs deep, this blog is for any curious traveler. If you’re more interested in understanding the history, art, and culture of a place than chasing the latest social media trend, you’re in the right place.
