Axel Stein is the kind of entertainer who isn’t afraid to have a bit of fun. He’s appeared on Michael “Bully” Herbig‘s no-laughing streaming comedy series LOL: Last One Laughing and gone on the run for Celebrity Hunted.
But he’s also a hard worker who has been in the entertainment industry since before he was a teenager. Today, he has dozens of films to his name.
This month, let’s have some fun and learn German with the films of Axel Stein!
Get to Know Axel Stein
Axel Stein was born on February 28, 1982, in Wuppertal, Germany.
At just 12 years old, Stein was already making his way into the entertainment world, appearing in German advertisements and landing numerous guest roles on television series.
Stein’s older brother, Michael, who sadly passed away in 2015 at the age of 42, served as his manager.
Harte Jungs
The 2000 comedy Harte Jungs (Ants in the Pants) is based on Alberto Moravia’s book The Two of Us (Io e lui).
Fifteen-year-old Florian is a late bloomer, but he’s eager to make up for lost time and has a crush on his classmate Leonie. One morning, he wakes up to find that his (ahem) “friend” can suddenly speak! With the help of his buddies, including Stein as Red Bull, can he manage this embarrassing situation and win over his dream girl?
Nicht mein Tag (Not My Day)
Based on Ralf Husmann’s novel of the same name, Nicht mein Tag (Not My Day) stars Stein and Moritz Bleibtreu.
Stein portrays Till, a former rock musician turned bank clerk, whose everyday life with his wife, Miriam, is a bit dull. When Nappo (Bleibtreu) is denied credit at Till’s bank, he returns the next day to rob it—and takes Till hostage in the process. What follows is a series of unexpected events that ensure Till’s life is anything but boring!
Where’s Wanda?
In Where’s Wanda?, the 2024 dark comedy streaming series from Apple+, Axel Stein and Heike Makatsch star as husband and wife Dedo and Carlotta Klatt.
When their daughter Wanda goes missing, the couple is desperate to find her, willing to go to any lengths. Along the way, they uncover many secrets about their small town…all of which have nothing to do with their missing daughter.
