Jördis Triebel was born in East Berlin on October 30, 1977, as the second of four sisters.
Triebel was introduced to acting and theater at a young age. Before the fall of the Berlin Wall, her mother was a props mistress at what’s today the Theater an der Parkaue (then known as the Theater der Freundschaft). A young Triebel would occasionally watch rehearsals at the theater.
She studied acting at Berlin’s Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts and, following her graduation, quickly joined the ensemble at the Bremer Theater for several years.
Heartwarming Rural Drama: Emmas Glück (Emma’s Bliss)
Triebel’s first major role, for which she was honored with several nominations and awards, was in 2006’s Emmas Glück (Emma’s Bliss) where she stars in the title role.
Directed by Sven Taddicken and based on the novel of the same name by Claudia Schreiber, the film follows Max (portrayed by Jürgen Vogel). Following a recent terminal cancer diagnosis, Max steals a large sum of money and a car from his boss/best friend. After a pursuit, Max ends up in the countryside and crashes the car.
There, he’s discovered by Emma, a local farmer, who takes the money while he’s unconscious. The pair gets to know each other better as Emma helps to hide Max from the police, unaware of his diagnosis.
